I was thinking today. If we had the best training, the best resources, the best ideas, the best teachers, the best opportunities to evangelise how many people do you think you yourself could get saved in one year?

Lets say 1 person each month if you were at the top of your game.

Thats 12 people a year.

Now, lets say you have been saved for 3 years.
That means you could have led 36 people to Christ.

5 years = 60 people

10 = 120 people

20 = 240 people

50 = 600 people

Now your saying thats way too many. I dont agree, but lets halve that.

5 years = 30 people

10 = 60 people

20 = 120 people

50 = 300 people

Now imagine if half of your converts did the same thing! We could have a revival on our hands! Instead, many of our churches are not growing by convert growth at all! Mostly because the soldiers, members etc dont evangelise! This is sad. Lets repent of the hundreds and thousands of people who we have let slip into the pits of hell by our apathetic, selfish lifestyles. God have mercy! Lord, awaken our zealous aggressive nature we have as a movement of God!

A word from God? I've just blogged on a similar thing - we were talking about this last night in our youth Bible study!!

Cool - the world for God, I'll do my part!

James, have you read 'How to win souls and influence people?' by Ray Comfort? I thoroughly recommend it.

Comfort, to my mind, is leading the way in terms of being an equipping evangelist in this day. You're right, the Army should be leading the way as in many things.

Army folk don't always find Comforts methods or ways very palatable, thats been my experience but they are thoroughly biblical and sound. And actually, the produce better conversations about the gospel- they get to the heart of the issue.

Bless you brother, lifting you up to the Lord as you battle for Him on your front.

in Jesus, under the flag,

thanx andrew!

i love ray comfort too! I went to the christian book shop the other day to buy some of his books coz they were in a catalogue, but they were out... so im waiting to find them then i'll definately get the one you said!

I was wary at first with how he uses law, but the more i read the Bible the more it makes sense!

im just amazed at the amazing conviction the law brings, its wonderful to see people realise sin leads to death! and even better once theyre like that to tell them Jesus leads to life!

Thanks for your text messages the other day! Here's hoping we're both Ambassadors for Holiness ey?! I'm excited by worshipping and serving alongside you, and learning from Steve!

If you're going to help save at least 24 people in our time at College, lucky I like to disciple huh?! Imagine the possibilities of getting 24 saved, discipling them up and then having them ready for Training College as we leave!! Now that would be returning to the Army of old huh?! :)

Hope to catch up soon!
